Learn how to use the site manager app to catalogue your items for auction.
Describing items accurately is an important step in getting your items online in an auction.
Below you see an overview this process, and we'll go through each step in more detail in this article.
1. Select upload container in ATLAS
a) Go to ATLAS > Uploads > My uploads
b) Enter the auction number in the search field in the top right corner and press Enter.
2. Push upload container to iPad (Site Manager App)
In My uploads, click on the iPad icon in the ‘Site manager app’ column.
This will make your upload available for use with the Site Manager app on your iPad.
3. Synchronize upload
a) Open the Site Manager app on your iPad
b) Click Synchronize to make all uploads from ATLAS available in Site Manager app on your iPad
c) Tap the upload container you want to use
4. Create and add pictures or videos to an item
a) Tab + new item to create a new item in the upload container (A)
b) Select the contract agreement and location for your item (B)
c) Complete all attribute fields. Fields marked with * are mandatory.
d) Select 'Sale Type' (No Reserve Price, Reserve Price, Allocation). Learn more about sales types here.
d) Tap the camera icon to add a picture or record a video of item. Click the camera button to return to the 'New item' screen
You can add an existing video/picture by pressing on media icon > Select media > Add videos/picture.
- When recording videos in the app, an overview of the videos will be displayed. Select the video you want to add to the lot, as shown above.
- Validate the video
- *Optional step to merge videos: (combine two videos into one)
Choose 2 or more videos, add them to upload > Select Merge Videos > Choose the videos that you'd like to merge > Save Item > Review items in the Overview page > Synchronize
Additional video info
- It's not possible to upload videos in Atlas
- Max size per video is 200MB
- To add the video, confirm twice in the app
- When videos are synced with Atlas, they are deleted in the app
- Always take pictures in landscape orientation.
5. Save your item
a) When your item is ready, Select Save and new or Save and copy
b) Use the New Item button (top left) to exit this screen.
Tips for creating items
- Check that the contract details are correct
- Select the correct item category from dropdown. Different attribute fields will be displayed.
- The title of the item is automatically determined based on the selected category.
- Lot numbers are automatically generated based on the first available/ you can also choose which number to start with;
- Fill in as many of the requested characteristics for the item as possible; this will provide a complete picture of the item;
- Enter estimated value (starting value is automatic)
- Indicate if it is a margin item and if it is being auctioned under allocation;
- Select the number of copies (including/excluding photo)
- Add photos by clicking the button to select photos from your Album or to take new content using your Site Manager app camera
6. Sync items on Site Manager app
Your iPad must be connected to the Internet in order to sync items.
a) Open the overview screen with all items, here you can view the items and make more copies if necessary.
b) When the auction is complete, select Synchronise (B) to copy and synchronise all items from your iPad to the ATLAS server
c) Your upload including all items are now copied to the ATLAS server
7. Synchronize items in ATLAS
a) Open ATLAS > Uploads > My uploads > find your auction
b) Select your auction
c) Click Sync Uploads button to sync the upload with your browser
d) Once the sync is complete, the items will be displayed in the items upload container
8. Review items in ATLAS
After you have uploaded your items to ATLAS, you can review and make changes to them.
Go to Uploads > My uploads and select the upload you want to review
a) Click Sync upload / sync this import. This will ensure that all lots are displayed
b) Click an item in the list to review it
c) Click Preview item to see how the item will be displayed on the website
d) Click Edit item to make any changes
9. Add items to auction bucket
When all items have been written and checked, the items must be placed in the auction bucket. This way, the Online Auction Manager knows that the auction is ready for the next step in the process.
Go to Uploads > My uploads screen and select your auction.
a) Hover over the vertical 3 dots on the top right. Choose Assign this import to auction bucket. A pop-up with auction buckets will be displayed. Select the bucket you want to add the items to and confirm.
