This article explains what an export declaration is and how to fill it in.
An export declaration (also known as a transport declaration) is a declaration to be filled in when a foreign buyer wants to collect their item(s) on a collection day.
Export declarations are completed digitally in ATLAS' collection app. Invoicing may include lots from multiple auctions and multiple pickup locations. This is to simplify the process for buyers, and means that a buyer only needs to sign once for the collection of all lots on the invoice. In cases with multiple pickup locations, the buyer signs at the initial location to facilitate the collection of subsequent lots.
How to fill in an export declaration:
- When a foreign buyer wants to collect their item(s) on a collection day, either scan their QR code or search for them in the auction to determine if an export declaration is necessary.
- If an export declaration is required, you'll see a message at the top of the invoice prompting you to fill in the declaration. Click Fill Declaration to begin.
- You'll be directed to an overview page where you can enter the required information under the Declaration section. This will involve providing details such as the buyer's name and address, description of the goods being exported, and the intended destination.
- Once you have filled in all the necessary information, the buyer will need to provide a signature in the signature box.
- Finally, click Save at the bottom right of the page to complete the process.
If you then click Fill declaration, you'll be directed to the following overview:
